Our Commitment to the Privacy and Security of Protected Health Information (PHI)

As a healthcare provider or business partner, Agility Health is committed to protecting the confidentiality, integrity and availability of our patients' and employees' records. We protect all confidential and protected health information (PHI) information as defined and required by two key sets of regulations and standards - HIPAA and HITECH.
  • The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) is a federal law that protects the privacy of patients and all information about them. HIPAA gives patients the right to have their information kept private and secure.

  • The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH), enacted as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, addresses privacy and security issues associated with the electronic transmission of health information. HITECH also enhances the HIPAA Privacy and Security Rules, and expands on the enforcement of HIPAA.
Agility Health will implement the use of all reasonable available physical and administrative safeguards to protect and secure patient and employee data. We annually review our privacy and security policies, procedures and monitoring activities to ensure compliance. In addition, employees receive initial and ongoing training regarding Agility Health's privacy and security practices.

If you have questions concerning our privacy and security policies, including the use, disclosure or availability of protected health information or other confidential records, as well as our safeguards, please contact Agility Health at (616) 356-5000 and one of our compliance officers will assist you.
