As CEO of Agility Health, Steve Davidson has oversight for the management and strategic direction of a leading national physical rehabilitation provider whose operations span more than 110 sites in 12 states nationwide. Under Davidson's leadership, Agility Health has significantly expanded its management and clinical teams, its services, and array of outpatient clinics. It has also increased the number of hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, industrial work sites and inpatient rehabilitation units it serves.
A seasoned industry veteran with extensive clinical and business experience, Davidson directs the company's care delivery and quality initiatives, financial performance, strategic acquisitions and other business development activities. He is also a strong proponent of Agility Health's service-focused culture, which unifies the organization's nearly 1,000 professionals around a deeply held passion for making life better for their patients, clients and partners.
Davidson has held the senior executive role at Grand Rapids, Mich.-based Agility Health since 2003, when he and partner Ken Scholten led the management buyout of Agility Health's predecessor firm, GNA. Davidson's prior, 14-year tenure at GNA included a series of leadership positions covering regional business development, healthcare system and corporate client relations, and staff recruitment and development. In addition, from 1996 to 2004 he was co-employed as CEO and President of Rehabilitation Professionals, LLC (RehabPros), a GNA subsidiary formed in partnership with a regional acute care hospital and a rehabilitation hospital.
Prior to his career at Agility Health, Davidson served as a business expansion and clinical program director with Health East Corporation, a large Minn.-based integrated health system. Previously, Davidson was a partner and regional director for PT Management Consultants, where he provided specialized rehabilitation consulting and contracting services to nursing homes and hospitals across a five-state region.
Davidson is a licensed physical therapist and member of the American Physical Therapy Association and its Private Practice Section. His board memberships include Affinity Insurance Ltd., the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, and Grand Valley State University's College of Health Professions Occupational Therapy Program advisory board. Davidson earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in physical therapy from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth, Minn. and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He and his wife Lisa reside in Ada, Mich.
